30 Nov USA Coaches Visit Barcelona with DB Sports Tours
This week we have finally learned of how the group of youth football coaches, based in the U.S. got to visit Spain as part of DB Sports Tours work with Futbol Salou and youth coach Albert Vinas.
The week long tour consisted of activities such as coaching lectures from Albert Vinas – a Catalonian youth football coach, a visit to the Technifutbol Academy and visiting the FC Barcelona training facilities. The visit took place the week starting January 28 – February 4th.
The trip began with an informal meeting with Albert Vinas and then an introductory theoretical coaching lecture. Vinas, who has worked with DB Sports Tours previously, is a Spanish coach who has a wealth of knowledge in elite youth coaching, having spent 20 years developing some of Europe’s young stars of today.
Albert Vinas has helped develop some of Europe’s rising stars, through the coaching of the Catalan way. He has helped a trio of Barcelona starlets become young stars’ Marc Bartra and Sergi Roberto who now both are part of one of Europe’s most exciting squads.
The first full day consisted of a visit to two local clubs, CF Pobla De Mafumet and CF Reus Deportiu, wherein the coaches examined their training methodologies. The next day the group got to re-visit CF Reus Deportiu to go into further detail about the intricate training methodologies of the Spanish football philosophy.
The third full day the group got to meet Franc Artiga, a coach at perhaps the world’s most famous club FC Barcelona. Later that day the group visited another local club, Salou UD to investigate their own football coaching systems.
The fourth day was perhaps the most exciting for these burgeoning young coaches; first visiting FC Barcelona’s training facilities, then in the evening going to the Camp Nou to watch Barcelona take on Villareal.
On the fifth day of the trip the group were back taking notes from some of the world’s leading coaches; first a ‘Master-class’ lecture with Futbol Salou, then another visit to the Technifutbol Academy, followed by a theoretical and practical class by CF Pobla De Mafumet coach Ambros Segura.
The final full day consisted of firstly another fine lecture by Albert Vinas themed ‘smart football’, followed by a training session at Futbol Salou, finally ending with a theoretical class at Futbol Salou. The group will then leave Spain the next day, ending their week long trip in Spain. For more information keep an eye on DB Sports Tours blog here.
