PORTUGUESE side Sporting Braga pushed Manchester United all the way in the Champions League in recent weeks and Irish coaches will get the chance to learn their secrets in January.
DBSportsTours are proud to announce that SC Braga Academy Director Hugo Vicente is coming to Ireland at the start of the year for a three-day coaching clinic tour.
We have organized for the well-known coach to visit North Dublin Schoolboy Coaches Club (all coaches from all leagues welcome) at the Oscar Traynor Complex on Wednesday January 23rd.



The following day (Thursday 24th) he will reveal the SC Braga methods to coaches at UCC in Cork, before finishing up with a clinic at Limerick’s Delta Sports Dome on Friday January 25th.
Each clinic will involve a three-hour workshop broken down into two sections: theoretical and practical.
Irish coaches will first be presented with a lecture detailing the make-up of the Portuguese club’s youth structure, goals, methods and specific details in the day-to-day running.
Than they will be get to see Vicente in action with Irish players during a practical session on the training pitch.



Vicente was in Ireland last year working with West Dublin club St Francis, putting each age group at the club through their paces over the course of a weekend.
Speaking to the Irish Daily Star’s Target supplement after his first experience of Irish grassroots football eleven months ago he said: “Definitely there looks like a lack of technical work and you can see it when you do some co-ordination work when they struggle.



“The goal is always to allow the players work on their co-ordination – even when doing a drill specifically to focus on one move – and maybe the work with Irish kids needs to change.”
