26 Nov Noe Baba Set To Captain Ireland U19′S V Holland U19′S
Noe Baba is set to captain Ireland U19’s tonight as the boys in green take on Holland at the Tallaght Stadium. Ireland are preparing for the upcoming UEFA U19 Championships qualifying campaign in November when they are set to face Malta, Gibraltar and Switzerland, so the clash with Aron Winter’s Dutch side will be a welcomed test.
Noe Baba, who is a combative and technically strong defender, will be relishing another opportunity to captain his country tonight. Baba is not unaware of the pressures of captaining his country though, as notably Baba was the first African- born player to captain a Republic of Ireland age group when he led out the Republic of Ireland U17s.
Noe is playing for the Irish 19′s for the third consecutive season being called in by Paul Doolin when he was an U17′s International. This is a phenomenal achievement for any young player.
Despite suffering an injury in his first few months not too long after joining Fulham, the resilient defender came back to fitness admirably to make 25 league appearances for the Club’s Under-18s last season and is now a full part of the reserves at Fulham.
This coming season is a massive year for Noe has he continues to progress and develop into the first team.
Baba, who was the FAI under 16 Player of the Year, is one of the many Irish talents whom are catered for by DB Sports
