26 Nov NDSL Sides Lead Way At Manchester Easter Cup
THE North Dublin Schoolboys led the way as Ireland finests small-sided games players once again shone at the DB Sports Tours Manchester Easter Cup.
Sale Football Club hosted the tournament for Under-9, Under-10, Under-11 and Under-12 teams.
NDSL selections across the age groups were joined by teams from Cherry Orchard, St Malachy’s, Park Celtic St Kevin’s Boys, Meath Athletic and Killea FC in competing against their English counterparts.
Arsenal Schools, Manchester Girls, Chester City and Moss Side Juniors were some of the domestic teams in action against Ireland’s best youngsters.
The NDSL B selection won the Under-11 Cup trophy after beating Proformance Schools in the deciding game 5-1, with Robert Mahon, Conor Moore and Val Adekoun on target.
St Kevin’s Boys were runners-up in the Shield competition at the same age, losing on penalties to Chester City, before the NDSL A selection won the Under-12 Cup.
Rabby Tabu and Simon Adekednle were on target there as the KDUL A made it a double with victory over Moss Side in the Shield Final.
Cherry Orchard’s Under-10s were beaten 2-1 in their Shield Final by Performance Schools, despite a good goal from Aaron Corish.
The NDSL players were rewarded further for their impressive weekend of action later on Sunday when they met the Manchester City players upon their return from Premier League action at Liverpool.
