30 Nov Loughshinny Youths Jubilant Upon Trip
This week the details of how Loughshinny youths trip to England went have been released. Throughout the three day trip it was said the group behaved excellently while the boys said it was a memorable and beneficial trip.
The weekend long trip began early Friday morning with collections at 6.15am. The weary eyed youngsters quickly made their way to Dublin port, wherein they travelled across the Irish Sea to dock in Holyhead.
Soon the boys then made their way through Wales to Manchester wherein they firstly had lunch in Red Café then took a guided tour of the historic stadium Old Trafford, taking in the years of success the club had.
An early night was needed, with the group staying in the Hotel Britannia ahead of their busy schedule for Saturday and Sunday. An early breakfast on Saturday morning was followed by a 7-vs-7 match between SaleCommunitySchool and Loughshinny. Loughshinny youths were said to have played excellently, showing much skill and commitment throughout the game.
Following the game the group then travelled to The Britannia to take in some Premier League action wherein Stoke City hosted Hull City with Peter Crouch scoring the winner with a fine late headed goal.
The group relaxed in the evening with a swimming session back in the Hotel Britannia. The following morning the group then headed to the Platt Lane Complex where they trained before making their way back through Wales to Holyhead to head home.
